How to Make Your Entryway Tidy and Welcoming

It's February 1st! It's time to shift our focus to the entryway. Your entryway is your greeting area, both literally and figuratively. It's where guests enter, you and your family enter; it's the opening hand of your home that draws you in. It's important to infuse this area with love and care.

Take Some Pre-Tidy Photos

Before we get started, I encourage you to take some photos of your entryway now. That way, at the end, you can see your progress. Here are mine:

What's Your Dream Entryway?

As you can see, my entryway is a little odd with it's long narrow hallway and weird storage thing off to the side. Likewise, you may not have much of an entryway. Or, you might have a much bigger one.

In any case, before we start, it's a good idea to let yourself dream. What's your ideal entryway? Are there certain colors you want? Is there a feeling you want to invoke? Decide what it is you want your entryway to do.

Is this where you want people take their shoes off? Do you want your keys stored here? Your purse, your bags? My ideal entryway looks like this: http://www.earnesthomeco.com/before-after-a-navy-blue-entryway/

Given my current entryway's architecture, I can't exactly make mine match this one, but I can aim to include elements of it.

How do you hope to transform your entryway? Pick some images, and pick the elements you want to incorporate.

xoxo
